Jessica Bell nominated as the Ontario NDP candidate in University–Rosedale

TORONTO - University–Rosedale’s New Democrats came together on Tuesday night to nominate Jessica Bell as their candidate in the next provincial election.

“It is an honour to represent the people of University–Rosedale at Queen’s Park,” said Bell. “The best of Ontario can be found in our vibrant and diverse community – but after seven years of Doug Ford, it’s getting harder for people here to make ends meet. It’s time we had a government that delivers real solutions on housing, health care, and affordability to bring life to our city again.”

A two-term MPP who has served as the Ontario NDP Critic for Housing, Bell has spearheaded legislation to prevent illegal evictions and keep housing affordable for renters. She has also remained an advocate for strong public transit and environmental justice.

“Jessica has been a champion for University–Rosedale, offering a leading voice on some of the most pressing issues of our time – like housing and homelessness,” said Marit Stiles, Ontario NDP leader. “The people of this community can count on her to hold this government accountable for their failure to invest in what really matters. I am proud to have Jessica on our team, and I know that together we can deliver what Toronto and Ontario deserve.”
