Alexa Gilmour nominated to be the Ontario NDP candidate in Parkdale–High Park

TORONTO – New Democrats in Parkdale–High Park nominate local minister and community organizer Alexa Gilmour to carry the Ontario NDP banner for the next provincial election.

“Parkdale–High Park is proud to have a history of effective representation from New Democrats for many years. Our community deserves representation that stands up for them and keeps the focus on the issues that matter the most,” said Gilmour. “After seven years of Ford, our community knows that we can’t afford four more. That is why, I am proud to stand with Marit Stiles and the Ontario NDP to build homes, hire doctors, fix schools, and create a compassionate and affordable future for Parkdale–High Park!”

As a United Church minister with deep roots in Toronto’s west-end, Gilmour has made it her life’s work to build a strong, resilient and welcoming community in Parkdale–High Park. She understands the challenges facing families in these diverse neighbourhoods, and will bring a grassroots, people-first approach to the halls of government.

“I am proud to have Alexa on our team,” said Marit Stiles, Ontario NDP Leader. “She has an impressive track record of delivering results for Parkdale - High Park. Over the years, she has spearheaded campaigns to reduce/end homelessness, support refugees, and foster an inclusive community.
